Mike just finished reading the book Visioneering by Andy Stanley. Last night he said he wanted me to read the last 3 paragraphs of the book. It really spoke to me because I have a HUGE internal struggle of the tension between what is and what I feel God is calling us (personally and as a church) to be. That is especially true when I come down from the high of being somewhere like Unleash at NewSpring. Here it is. Let me know what you think.
Everybody has a mental picture of what could and should be for his life. But not everybody will pay the price to turn the mental image into reality.
If you are consumed with the tension between what is and what could be, if you find yourself emotionally involved…frustrated…broken-hearted… maybe even angry…about the way things are, and if you believe God is behind your anguish, then chances are you are on the brink of something divine. Something too important to walk away from.
Pay the price.
Embrace the vision.
After all, everybody ends up somewhere in life.
You have the opportunity to end up somewhere on purpose.
We are getting ready to have a meeting to get some structure and vision going for our children’s ministry. I can’t wait to spend some time with these ladies as we strive to end up somewhere on purpose.
That’s awesome Jen!
I think you all have the potential and desire to do lots of great things and it’s obvious the Lord is blessing and showing favor on your family and church.
I’m thankful for all you and Mike do!
